I will say that there is a seemingly accepted level of professionalism by using gmail, where with yahoo the @yahoo.com does not look as appropiate as @gmail.com. Maybe it is my own thought process, but I feel like I respect an email from a gmail user more than a yahoo users.

You're right about that as there are still features where Yahoo is really lacking. However, as I noted in the post I tend to still use my Yahoo mail more out of habit so the unlimited space will be a nice addition.

Of course they are but I am sure it will work to sway some people. Like you, I am nowhere near the storage limits with either Gmail or Yahoo but it is still nice to have the option of unlimited storage.

I use Gmail with a firefox style to edit out any advertising/change the look a little bit. I have archived every e-mail received over the last few years and am still not coming close to approaching 1gb.

Yahoo is (obviously) just overselling to try to compete with Google :p.

I've tried using Gmail, but to be quite frank...I hate it! It has loads of potential, but there are too many little things I come across that really bug me.

Having said that, threaded comments is a nice idea that Yahoo should look into.

Oh yeah, I completely overlooked the threaded replies which is a great feature. Although I've encountered numerous times where Gmail cannot keep the threaded replies organized properly.

I haven't used Hotmail in years so I cannot really comment on that. The only reason I personally rank Yahoo higher than Gmail is the convenience of use for me as changing over to a new email is a pain.

Thanks for the feedback Gary.

I want to see threaded replies and less advertising in the mailbox area . . . . I would have to say that yahoo is no. 3 behind gmail and hotmail for me right now . . . hotmail only because it catches all my junkmail for me :)
