Spread it!
Today is my wife’s birthday, unfortunately I am about 1000 miles away from home so I cannot be there to celebrate with her. We did dinner and gifts before I left town but it just isn’t quite the same.
This is the first time since we have been dating and subsequently married that I have not been with my wife on her birthday.
Due to the fact that we are not together, I had to make due with a few phone calls to wish her a Happy Birthday and a well-timed delivery of flowers and a card just to let her know how special she is to me.
Now it’s time for me to go out and have a nice big juicy steak and a few cold ones in celebration of her birthday.

Thanks! I’m not sure how much fun she had but she took the kids and met a friend of hers at Chuck-E-Cheese for pizza and games.
I like your style. We should celebrate our wives birthdays more often!
