Joost™ the best of tv and the internet

Have you heard about Joost and wondered how you can get access to Joost? If you answered yes, I’ve got the answer for you. For those that may not know about Joost, it is a relatively new service offering free TV via the Interweb.

A few months back I was invited to become a beta tester but let the invite sit in my Inbox without taking any action. As I sat here today and was filtering through old messages, I came across the invite and decided to jump in and give it a try.

I’ve only been using it a short time now but I am pretty impressed. The channel selections are not very robust right now but more and more channels are being added to the mix. In my initial viewing, I enjoyed watching Off the Fence Docs, Fight Network, Braindead and Fifth Gear Shortcuts.

The picture quality is quite impressive although I did run into a little bit of delay on a few programs, however I am sure that is just my connection. It is very easy to cycle through the channels and select programs for viewing, with very snappy response times when changing programs and channels.

I haven’t taken the time yet to explore some of the cool features, such as chatting and IM with other people that are using Joost and watching the same program. Overall, I am really glad that I decided to sign up and start using Joost.

If you’d be interested in signing up now before they release the service to the public, leave me a comment here and I will coordinate sending you an invitation.
