Fun Day In The City

Yesterday we took the kids to the Discovery Center Museum to meet Nathan Sawaya and see his The Art of the Brick exhibit. His sculptures are simply amazing to see in person and can really humble you if you remember the things you may have built with LEGO.

The kids had a chance to meet him and ask him a few questions. Did you know that he spends roughly $200,000 per year on LEGO pieces for his artwork? Our oldest son had brought along a flat square of LEGO “land” that he asked to be autographed. It is pretty cool and I will try to get a picture posted.

Today we are heading into the *big city* to see the Blue Man Group. None of us have ever seen Blue Man Group and the tickets were part of my wife’s Mother’s Day gift as she has been wanting to see them for quite some time.

The kids are really excited because we have decided to take the train downtown and my wife is somewhat nervous because we will also be taking the *L* (subway/elevated train). She has never been on the *L* and new things usually make her a little nervous. It should be an exciting time.

Well, it’s about time for us to head out and get our train tickets. Hopefully the Blue Man Group is exciting and we have a good time. We have great seats for the show and are looking forward to a fun day in the city!

We loved the show and everyone had a really good time. We weren’t sure how the kids would like it but they had a blast and want to go again!
