Speedlinking - May’s Most Vocal

The month of May was certainly exciting, as any month with a trip to Las Vegas will be, with a considerable amount of quality dialog within the community.

Overall, there were three posts that really stood out in terms of the comments - both in the sheer number of comments and the quality of the discussion. Here are the three most commented posts from the month of May:

For the month of May, there were 534 comments posted to the blog, which is a slight decrease from the the month of april. Part of that is my fault for not responding enough so look for more dialog in June!

The race for the top commentators was as close as I have ever seen on this blog, with a handful of ties thrown in for good measure. The following community members were the most vocal in the month of May.

Top Commentators May 2008

1. Home Recording Studio came in first with 28 comments. As I drove home tonight listening The Ting Tings song Great DJ, I could not help but think that my youngest son will eventually be recording his own music. If you’re interested in recording your own music, be sure to check out these 5 audio recording tips.

2. Coming in tied for first place 28 comments is Asia’h Epperson. As anyone that has been blogging for some time will likely tell you, managing multiple blogs can be a real chore. Asia’h has me beat with the number of blogs and was recently pondering the question of how to manage your time? Stop by and share your suggestions!

3. Furniture Store secured third place with 27 comments, narrowly missing the top spot. While I now that often times they go unused by people that have them, once I get my basement finished I would love to have a pool table of my own.

4. Cesar from BlueTechNews.com tied for the 2nd most comments with 27. Given that my wife really wants to get a more sophisticated camcorder than the Flip camera that we have now, I had to take a look at this post about the HD flash camcorder from Samsung. If I am not mistaken, this was the camera shown at the end of a recent Dot Com Pho episode - hook me up guys!

5. Steve Elliot from Gadgets4Nowt leads the way for the last spot with 26 comments. Maybe I need to have a chat with Steve about how to get free stuff online, as a new PS3, Xbox 360, or HDTV would be awfully nice.

6. Eva White also contributed 26 comments for the month. As much as I enjoyed the discussion of why oil prices are not going to fall (I just paid $4.19/gallon for gas) any time soon, I have to admit that my attention really focused in on the post about sex and high heels.

7. Nicole Price from Great Prices Here wraps up the three-way tie for the last spot with 26 comments. Not too long ago, Nicole celebrated with her 50th post since starting the blog - congratulations! Please stop by and add your support for Nicole!

The race for the top commentator spot was neck-and-neck throughout the month and I believe this is the most people that have ever been listed in the Most Vocal Speedlinking edition. Hopefully the month of June brings just as much excitement and even more quality dialog.

Thanks everyone!

Much appreciated. Btw, I was looking for an About page on your new site but didn’t see one - I think it would be a nice addition.

I commented on all three of those posts, yay. I’m kind of upset that I didn’t even place for top commentator, but I’m not giving up. I will be successful!

LOL, I know i know. thanks for the comments!

I am still learning my way around .mac and iweb and all that jazz. it is pretty user friendly (sheesh, even I can do it) but the one thing dont like is it isnt too plugin friendly. There is a select few plugins I can use. Must do more research for it.

Thanks for all the help you have provided!

Huge thanks once again Derek. Firstly, for providing enough great content for the community to comment on and debate, and secondly, for the added link love in this thread.

Much appreciated, even if I do post under my real name (sticks tongue out!)

I have bored enough of my friends rigid about free stuff (reminds me of the ex pilot in Airplane films). If I explained how much has come my way then the majority of people still wouldn’t believe it!

Here’s to a great June!

Derek,

Though I have more blogs than you, I was not making anything closed to you yet. I was just trying to do with more quantity instead of quality (like what you have here).

Thanks for the link again.

Cheers.
