The year 2007 was the year of the meme in the blogging world, or at least it certainly seemed like it as they were being passed around quite often. There was the 8 things I know as well as the 8 oddities about Derek Semmler. One that I particularly enjoyed was the six word memoir.
Well, it seems that Michael Kwan has tagged me with another meme and I have decided to participate. The nice thing about this meme is it will hopefully give you a little additional insight into the person behind the blog.

Weird. I think CommentLuv is broken, because it keeps showing my post from three weeks ago.
It much just not like you…your feed has been updating for me and commentluv is getting my most recent post
That is quite strange though…is commentluv workign for you on other sites?
You’re welcome – thanks for tagging me. Not sure what is going on with CommentLuv, your RSS feed has been updating from what I have seen.
Hmmm, now I have to come up with answers to these questions
Don’t worry though, I’ll try and get get my responses posted over the weekend. Thanks for sharing this little-known information about yourself Derek.
Nicks last blog post..Got some time to kill?
You’re welcome…I am looking forward to hearing your facts as well.
Lawn maintenance in a cemetry? As in a lawn, or keeping the weeds out of the areas around the graves? Either way, hope you didn’t have to do any night shifts.
We were responsible for mowing, trimming, weeds, etc. for the entire cemetery, including between each and every grave.
There weren’t any night shifts but we did also assist with the digging of graves and the preparation for funerals. The most difficult thing I ever had to do there was hand-dig a grave that was for a baby, that was an emotional thing to do.
Nice time it was ten years ago. of you I think we are similar but i am not married now. Then you have children. Your plan is good when you are milliner. God will makes you milliner.
Nice resume!
Thanks!
Back at you
Charlie on the PA Tpks last blog post.."5 Things" meme
Thanks for participating…based on your answers, does that mean you were (are) a Mets fan?
Born and bred.
Tough, considering my 3 older brothers were Yankee fans.

Sue Woolfes last blog post..I am so happy the way it turned out!
Thanks for the feedback Sue!
That’s such an inspiring post. We should make one of these lists ourselves every year.
I am sure your cigar job didn’t last long
. Maybe it put you in debts also
?
Jessica Ws last blog post..Why is Professional Web Design so Important
Actually, I worked there for a few years. It was a part-time job in the evenings after I had graduated college. The job basically covered my costs of smoking cigars, which I did quite a bit back then.
Neat interesting info about you! I see you tagged me, so i will see what i can come up with!
Thanks, look forward to reading more about you.
Ok, I did it.
btw, thanks for making me realize that i am a terribly boring person. :p
That is a very worthy cause setting up a non profit for people with debt problems. You would not only be helping individuals, but also our economy as a whole.
Thanks, I would love doing that as there are so many people that just are not educated in the process and steps that they need to take. Providing that knowledge has the power to change people’s lives and I find that to be priceless.
You seem to feel quite strongly about debt Derek – I am in a bit of financial mire myself at the moment ( all my own fault)
I admire your ambition there!
Yeah, shortly after college I was mired in debt (student loans, car loan, credit cards) and I had been reading the message boards at Fool.com – one day it clicked for me and I put together a debt repayment plan and have not paid any credit card interest since then.
My hope is that you have a strategy in place, keep your head up and know that it will be a hard path to follow but you will get there!
Interesting to come back to this post in five years time and answer all over again.
Who knew of blogs five years ago?
