As part of the Movember recap, I mentioned that there would be an upcoming contest to win a couple of prizes courtesy of Canadian Club Whisky.
Canadian Club Whisky, which happens to be a fine beverage that I have been known to enjoy from time to time, was one of the sponsors of Movember and provided me with a cool gift package to give away in celebration of Movember.
Canadian Club Whisky Schwag
There will be one lucky winner, selected at random, that will receive the following gift package:
- 2009 Canadian Club Calendar
- Canadian Club Movember T-Shirt
- Canadian Club Movember Flask Set

Contest Rules
Entry requirements are extremely easy – simply leave a comment on this post and you’re entered for your chance to win! While not required, I’d like you to include your favorite charity in your comment.
- Comments will be accepted until 11:59pm CST, December 16th, 2008.
- Only one entry per person will be accepted.
- Winner will be selected at random using the Random Integer Generator on Wednesday, December 17th, 2008.
- Winner will have seven days to respond with their contact information. In the event winner does not respond, an alternate winner will be selected.
Prize Details
Since it wasn’t possible to include these details in the picture, I just wanted to share a few things about the prizes that make this gift package pretty cool.
First, which you can see in the picture but is worth repeating, is the saying on the shirt: “Your Dad’s Mo Was Popular With The Ladies”
The calendar, which might seem like a “ho-hum” kind of gift, has a coolness factor due to the monthly sayings, as well as the Tip of the Month and Tipple of the Month (which is a new drink recipe each month). The monthly sayings include gems such as:
- Your dad missed the ball drop
- Your dad gave out the nicknames
- Your dad’s aftershave worked
Throughout the calendar, as well as on the shirt, you will notice the slogan for Canadian Club Whisky: Damn Right Your Dad Drank It. When the lucky winner receives these gifts, they’ll be saying, “Damn right this is a sweet prize package.”
Good luck everyone and thanks again to Canadian Club Whisky!
** UPDATE ** To clear any confusion, there are no restrictions on who can enter the contest. Given that Movember was an international event, I will ship the prize worldwide to whoever happens to win.

Canadian Club is great! Maybe I’m biased, because I’m Canadian. Around here, I refer to CC as rye.
I don’t really have a single favorite charity. In the past, I’ve donated to United Way, Union Gospel Mission, UBC (my alma mater), SPCA, and others.

Hi Derek,
You may corrupt me. I used to only drink single malt Scotch until a friend explained to me how much I could save by getting the 1.75 bottle of blended Scotch at Costco. Now you’re tempting me to switch to whiskey. Well, if I win, I will give it a try. Thanks!

Lol – I hear you. When I pour myself a drink, I have a preference for Glenlivet but also enjoy a nice glass of CC, Knob Creek, Maker’s Mark, and JD from time to time.
Hey Derek,
My mother-in-law gives me Glenlivet for my birthday and Christmas… how lucky am I! I had Maker’s Mark for the first time this summer at a family reunion in Nebraska. My wife’s cousin brought a bottle to the formal dinner. That stuff is excellent too. I like my wife’s family! ~ Steve
