It was two years ago that Derek published his first post here.
As I skimmed over the posts he has made here over the time, I am amazed on how much Derek has kept up his blog to what it is now, how far he has come. It gives me inspiration that maybe one day, maybe my blog will be the same way. It should give other new bloggers hope too, I hope it does.
Here is to the past two years and the future years to come!

Andrea, thank you for the birthday post! Over the weekend I just renewed my hosting plan and realized that the blog had now been around for two years.
It has been a great experience and I have “met” so many great people as a result. Thank you to everyone that has been a part of these two years!

I still remember the 1 year mark like it was yesterday, this 2nd year has gone by quickly.

Since taking a break from blogging, my day job has become much more demanding (or maybe my focus has simply shifted) but I have been able to spend more time with my family as well and it has been great.

Oddly enough, my birthday is 6 months after the birthday of the blog – although I am much older than 2 (just don’t expect me to remember how old I actually am, lol).
As for using my name as the URL, I don’t know if it is the best thing to do but I don’t really regret it. It might not be the best choice for a blog that you are hoping to build into a money making empire, lol, as that makes it harder to sell or step away if that time comes but I still like having it.
