About this time last year, I popped my info product cherry when I released my very first product targeted towards people trying to build affiliate websites.
Maybe it has something to do with the adrenaline of starting a new year, but I am at it again and will be releasing my next info product in the very near future.
Tell us more!
While I don’t want to reveal the topic of the info product just yet, there have been a few hints here and there that you should be able to piece together to get a pretty good idea of what I am doing.
Keeping in mind the lessons I learned on the first time around, I am most definitely keeping it simple and zeroing in on the target audience. Like my first product, there should be minimal need for customer support because what I am sharing is really straight-forward and easy to understand.
When you see it, you’re probably going to slap yourself in the forehead with the proverbial “Doh!” moment.
Honestly, in all of the products that I have seen on this topic, I have yet to see one of them mention this super ninja tactic that will have you absolutely crushing it.
But most importantly, I am having fun!
Alright, that’s all for now…
What fun would it be if I told you everything right now?
I’ve learned a thing or two about how to build anticipation, so I need to keep some things a secret until the product has been launched.
It shouldn’t be long now, I’m hoping to get some feedback from a Goliath in this niche and then I will be making final revisions in preparation for release.
A’ight deuces! (That’s for my son.)

Look forward to checking it out. When’s the estimated time of arrival on this product? -Briddick
The target would be to have it out some time this week. I got some feedback on it earlier and am just now wrapping up revisions to it. Will be sending back out for an additional review and hopefully be ready to button it up shortly.
I also look forward to your product Derek. I hope it would be beneficial to your followers like me. Please keep us posted. Thank you!
Hopefully it will be…but it will definitely depend on where your interests lie and what you’re doing online.
I wish you the best for this new venture, creating your own product can really skyrocket your income if you done it the right way and as it seems you really know a lot about marketing…
Thanks, been through a lot of trial and error and certainly still learning my way.
Haha I love stuff that gives me doh moments. Will definitely keep an eye out for your info product. Because I love the stuff you share on your blog, I’m sure I’ll probably gain a lot from your ebook!
Jack.
Appreciate the feedback and support!
Derek, I am a new affiliate and trying out my first product, I am not sure about the success or failure, i was really scared initially, but now after a week i am more grounded, patient and waiting for the results slowly.
Some of my friends have discarded my idea and some have loved it. So i am keeping it low, trying to build some genuine reputation, lets hope how it does.
Reading anything from experienced campaigners like you certainly helps!
John, that’s great that you are getting involved with products as well. Think of it this way – even if the product bombs, you’ll learn a ton of information that you can apply to make the next one even better.
Care to share more about your product? If you don’t want to mention it publicly, feel free to contact me off the blog.
Here’s to your success!
Looking forward to reading more on this Derek. Good luck with it!
Thanks Matt!
Nice blog, thank you for the info!
I wish you very much success with your next info product and hope that you learned what you did right or wrong in marketing.
I’m actually rethinking the launch of the product and might instead provide it as a freebie for people that are on my list. Haven’t fully decided yet but that is where I am leaning right now…
But thanks!
Sounds interesting…I am launching my first affiliate site this weekend. I will be digging into your info for sure
Ok one more thing….
So here is my issues with my soon to be affiliate site. I feel like I am going to be able to rank well in a highly competitive online vertical. My question is do I even need to bother signing up as an affiliate somewhere? Can’t I just just sell advertising based on my owns site’s traffic? I’d rather charge monthly fees for being listed on my site and not paid per lead. What do you think?
A lot of that will depend on the niche of the site, and you can certainly utilize both aspects of monetizing your site. With that said, I used to regularly post updates about my earnings from my websites and private advertising deals were one of my best sources of income. If you do that properly and have a significant amount of daily traffic to your site, you can make a great deal of money pursuing your own advertising.
As a tip, which I’ve also written about on the blog, when you are negotiating with people / companies to place an ad on your site, offer them a standard monthly rate but also provide a discount if they prepay for a longer term arrangement. As an example, offer them a monthly ad for $x and then say you would be happy to provide a 5% discount if they secure 6 months or a 15% discount if they secure 12 months. Play around with the levels of discount, but this offers an incentive for the advertiser and gives you a nice upfront payment.
Thanks, that’s a great idea with the 12 month discount. My developer is almost done with my site and I cant wait for it to launch. As you can guess it’s an insurance site
I’ll keep you posted!
You’re welcome!
Hope the launch gets here quickly and all goes well for you! Let me know once it is live and how things are going too.
its live but very simple at the moment michigan-insurance-companies dot com
Let me know what you think we are gonna make the banner cleaner look soon.
Stan, I like the overall layout of the site. I might suggest adding some contrast to the text of the posts as it is a little light in my opinion. I’d also like to see the excerpts be a touch longer to fill more of the white space next to each thumbnail (or make the thumbnail a little smaller). I like the clean look of the nav bar and the table on the main page.
Look forward to seeing the site grow.
Thanks for the feed back…we are going to make those changes.
Hey Stan,
I took a minute to check out your site and seen that your designer is skipping out allot of SEO stuff that is vital if you want your website to gain allot of traffic in the area that your interested in.

What do you think of the Amazon affiliate offer? I keep seeing posts about how people are making money with Amazon selling through their site.
Well, being a resident of Illinois I am no longer permitted to be in their affiliate program but I enjoyed it while I was able. The commission is a little low at 4% to start with but it was always a fairly consistent earner for me.
If you’re able to, I would go ahead and sign up. It is difficult to become wealthy from just their program but it can supplement your online earnings nicely.
