When John Chow offered the opportunity to review his blog and receive a linkback I jumped at the chance since my blog is just getting off the ground.
With a recent rule change to John’s review offer, he was adding incentive by offering two links to each site. One link is to the post reviewing his site and then the 2nd link is to the main page with the anchor text of your choice. In the effort to refine SEO, anchor text plays an important role so this is a great reward.
Scion tC
As I tried to think of something to use for my anchor text, I had to look no further than the banner of this blog and selected “Scion tC” as my link. Since I bought my 2006 Scion tC in July of 2005, I have absolutely fallen in love with the car even though I have kept it pretty much stock. By keeping mine stock, it actually looks different than many of the cars that I see on the road. 🙂
In case you missed it, I recently wrote about how Scion treats customers the right way and have delivered a quality product. I’m racking up the miles on my Scion tC, with a little over 42,000 miles in the year and a half that I have owned the car. The car has been rock solid and should last me quite some time.
Mods
For anyone unfamiliar with the Scion line of cars, they have created base models (which actually come with a boat load of standard options) and allow people to customize their cars. The only factory installed option is the side airbags, which is how I ordered my car.
Right now the only mods that I would like to make but am just too cheap to do them are tinting the windows and replacing the rims with a set of black rims. Other than those cosmetic changes, I would love to beef up the horsepower but since this car is just a daily commuter racking up the miles I don’t have any plans to do anything in that area.
If you’ve never driven a Scion tC, I would highly recommend stopping by a dealer and just taking one for a spin. When purchasing my car, I had almost decided on a Mazda3 before I drove the Scion with manual transmission and I fell in love.

i got 2 links too 😀 not everyone did though. (i checked earlier..hehe..) oh well…
Yeah I noticed that as well. I was wondering if the ones with only one link were the last reviews from the original rules and you had to follow the new rules to get the two links.
It will be interesting to see if I can rise through the ranks.
umm yea this technorati thing is kinda making me feel dirty 😛 my ranking is 80k right now, and this morning (pre-batch 36) it was 1.3 million. i don’t know where i really rank! lol
i’m sure you’re seeing a huge spike today, yes?
dang, I had checked earlier and I was still around 430,000 but just checked again and have jumped up to about 74k.
Looks like it is the evil one himself still giving a boost from his links.
My technorati rank took a ride too 😉
I’m guess you really like the tC. I drove an xB a while back and thought it was roomy. There is no way I could deal with the lack of power in that car. Is the tC pretty zippy?
The tC is a little zippy but I think it can be much better. It shares the 4 cylinder from the Toyota Camry but is a much smaller car. Having the manual transmission helps plus I think it is much more fun to drive the stick.
I’ve heard that the newer models are going to beef up the power and it is hard to complain with more power from the engine, although it makes it less economical.
When I was in there they tried to push the turbo option. I think they said they were going to make them standard in the next year or two. I’m sure that would help a lot.
I tried to convince myself I cared about economics, but I decided I would rather drive a fun car then a economic car. I sacrifice a couple bucks for several hps 😉
I was pleased to not have my dealer try to *push* any options and the buying process was fantastic. The turbo would be very nice and that is what I had heard as well about it becoming standard.
I went the economical route with my car though. After all, my other blog is all about eliminating debt so I kept things economical. With a 130 mile roundtrip every day to work, this car is just getting abused with miles so there wasn’t much need to get all the extras.
Scions are really cool cars….I love them in white with bronze rims. As far as horsepower goes….turbonetics make a turbo kit that is all you will ever need!
