Back Home and Recharging

After returning home from Atlanta on Friday evening (which is a topic for a separate post) I spent a few days trying to unplug from everything and just spend some time with my wife and kids.
While I find it difficult to stay away from my blogs and websites that I read daily, I think the time with my family was much needed and helped get me back into the swing of things.
Saturday was spent out on the baseball field with my oldest son as he had baseball practice and then we followed that up with playing more catch at home. Add in a few beers with the neighbors on a nice warm afternoon and it was a good day all around. Much of Sunday was spent on the driveway shooting hoops with both of my kids while my wife spent some time out on her own. After a week alone with the kids, she needed a break and it was a perfect day for that.
Monday I opted to take a personal day off of work to catch up on things around the house. Whenever I am away on business, I like to try and take that first day of the next week as a day at home to catch up on bills and chores that piled up while away.
Now I’ve got quite a bit of reading to catch up with on all of my favorite sites from last week and have a handful of posts that I need to get written. It’s going to be a busy time but the couple of days that I spent away from the computer have recharged my batteries and have me ready to go.

Family and personal time is very important and under-valued in today’s society.

You’re right that family and personal time is very important. In many cases, it is too easy to take this for granted and be consumed with work or other things and neglect those most important.
I’ve ventured into blogging to explore the potential of making money online in an effort to allow myself more time with my kids and family. While it does take a lot of hard work, much of that work can be done at times that does not interfere with family time.
