From Burnt Cheese To Burnt Fingers

The last time I posted I was sharing my escapade with cheating death due to inadvertently turning on one of the gas burners on the oven and not realizing it until the next morning.
Since that experience, I’ve attended a private screening of a new movie and enjoyed a Little League baseball game. That was followed up with some family time and topped off with two crispy finger tips.
Ocean’s 13
Friday started off with a private screening of Ocean’s 13 courtesy of a vendor that we use at work. While it was not the red-carpet affair from the night before, it was still exciting to see the movie before it was officially released to the masses. If that were not enough, the movie itself was really pretty good.
After Ocean’s Twelve, which I thought was absolutely horrible and still have not watched the entire movie from beginning to end, I was quite pleased with the latest release. It was a little predictable but it was still an enjoyable movie and I would recommend it to anyone that enjoyed the first in the Ocean’s series.
Little League Baseball
After seeing the movie Friday morning and arriving home late in the afternoon, I had pretty much crashed as I didn’t realize attending a movie could be so exhausting. Saturday started off with my oldest son’s Little League baseball game. Their last few games have been a little rough but this game was great.
They played really well defensively and also had the bats ready for action. It seems like they have been rejuvenated now that they are out of school and don’t have to play after a long day at school. But they really played well as a team and it was an exciting game to watch with quite a few great plays.
Family Time
Once the baseball game concluded, we headed over to my Grandma’s house to celebrate her 89th birthday. We had a nice BBQ and enjoyed a great game of Wiffle Ball in the front yard.
It’s always nice to spend some time with the family. Although I am not sure if it is just our family but it is amazing how it never fails that the table conversation eventually ends up with *bathroom humor*. Needless to say it was an enjoyable afternoon and evening spent with my Grandma on her birthday.
Crispy Fingers
You’d think that I had learned my lesson with the oven incident but I rounded out the weekend by burning two of my fingers courtesy of my motorcycle battery.
I finally got around to stopping by my local Harley dealer to purchase a new battery for my motorcycle. After getting back home with the battery, I got out the tools and began the process of replacing the battery. The old battery came out without any problems.
As I began to install the new battery, I decided to add a plug adapter for my battery charger so I would no longer have to remove the seat to charge the battery. Once I connected the positive and negative battery terminals and the adapter was in place, I needed to re-position the adapter so it was not hanging out over the oil tank.
The plug of the adapter became wedged between the frame of the bike and the oil tank. As much as I tried to wiggle it free, I just could not get it loose. In a *not too bright moment*, I picked up one of the small Allen-wrenches that I had out to try and pull the plug free from it’s position.
Unfortunately, the end of the wrench slipped into the end of the adapter and contacted the metal prongs and this promptly sent the charge of the battery through the wrench directly into my fingers. As the smell of burning flesh filled the garage, I jumped back and witnessed two nice burn marks in my thumb and middle finger.
The burns are not too bad but it certainly hurt, not to mention the smell of burning skin is not too pleasant. But the fingers now have a little medication and band-aids in place and are good to go.
Time For Sopranos
I’ve got a laundry list of things to finish for the night and still need to get my monthly goal recap completed. However, it is time for the replay of the final Sopranos episode and I need to tune into that right now.
Hopefully you have all had an enjoyable weekend and did not burn any fingers or anything else!

Ouch! If it’s any consolation, my finger (the one I shut my car door on)looks like it’s a zombie finger. It’s all blotchy purple and the nail is falling off in reverse from the cuticle and still connected on the tip. SEXY! 🙂

I’m sure the women are all over that Leo!

Was the Sopranos ending crappy or what. Wide open for a movie.

It was a pretty crappy ending and certainly left me wanting more. However, from the perspective of the producer, I am sure that is what he was after as people will be speculating and asking all sorts of questions about the ending.
But I was hoping for a little more definitive end to it.

They should have at least burnt Butch’s fingertips or something. 😛

Lol, I was hoping he would get it with Phil but then saw the potential story line of him becoming the boss of that family.

Oceans 12 isn’t good? We were gonna get it on our Blockbuster list but we’re on the fence. I hear good and bad. I detested Clooney until O Brother Where art Thou?

Please don’t let my opinion sway you from seeing it but I was quite disappointed with Ocean’s Twelve. As I noted, I have the DVD and have yet to make it through an entire viewing.
After enjoying O:11 as much as I did, maybe my expectations were too high for 12.
What do the rest of you think about Ocean’s Twelve? I’d welcome additional feedback to help Damien out with his decision to rent it or not.

Yeah…see it. Derek doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Actually, it’s the worst of the 3, but that’s relatively speaking, IMHO. See it. You’ll need to in order to understand a few things in O13.

The hand is doing better and is healing up nicely. There are still a few holes in the skin though.
I haven’t been to a party that was shut down by any type of authority since before we had kids, must have been a pretty good party while it lasted.

Thanks Danielle. The fingers are pretty much healed up now and I am good to go, although I just posted about Chopper College and my wife made fun of me given my fingers. 😉
