Announcement :: Partnering with eMoms to Bring You Dad Balance

by derek on September 12, 2007 · 7 comments

I have an exciting announcement to share with all of you!
Over the last few weeks, I have been working with Wendy Piersall from eMoms At Home on a new project that would expand her fantastic website to include a variety of new channels.
Wendy made the official announcement just a short while ago and now I would like to share it with all of you.
The eMoms At Home site is being expanded to include six new channels: eBay Selling for Parents, Dad Balance, Freelance Parent, Craft Boom, Parent Product Reviews, and Seasonal Kid Activities.

Dad Balance

I’ve been given the opportunity to author one of the channels within Wendy’s new site, as I will be leading the Dad Balance channel.
With Dad Balance, I plan to provide a resource for tips, advice and discussions for working dads trying to find a healthy balance between their career and their family. There is not a wealth of information readily available for dads that want to have a successful career while also being able to spend time with their family. When you visit the bookstore or library, much of the information on work-life balance is targeted towards working mothers.
Dad Balance plans to change all of that by providing dads, as well as anyone else, with a destination to learn and share.

Dad Balance

Thank You and Invitation

When I first entered the arena of blogging, I could never have imagined how my life could be impacted in such a short amount of time. Not only have I had the pleasure of meeting quite a few fantastic people but now I am being given the opportunity to expand into a new site with a very well-known blogger.
I’d like to take a moment to thank all of you that have become regulars of this site, as I don’t think I would have been in a position to be granted this opportunity had it not been for the growth of this site. You all have had a part in keeping me motivated to build this site and expand my network.
Of course, I owe a great deal of thanks to Wendy as well as she has taken a huge step with her site and I am truly honored to be a part of this new growth.
I’d like to invite all of you to visit Dad Balance and join in on the discussions. I know there are quite a few dads that stop by here so I hope to see you, as well as everyone else, over at the new site!

Congrats Derek! Hope it goes well for you.
Thank you for the feedback on Mel’s site too. I’ve made a few aesthetic changes, and completely changed the code so hopefully it now works in IE FF and other major browsers. You can let us know if you see anymore issues.

Derek,
What can I say…this is huge! Congrats man! …Very fitting (as I have always enjoyed your commentary on family and being a Dad). I will most definitely be heading over Dad Balance.

@Michelle :: You don’t need to be a dad to stop by as I think the opinions and perspective of moms (and women in general) will help the site.
@Chris :: Thanks for the kind words! Look forward to seeing you over there.
@BB :: Thanks, feel free to join in over there and share your thoughts as you always have great feedback!
