HitTail Wants To Promote You

Many of you that operate your own blog or website have likely heard of HitTail – the service/tool that provides real time data on the keywords that people use to find your website.
I’ve been a big fan of HitTail for quite some time, although I admit that for the longest time I didn’t really understand the importance of the “Keywords” tab or the “Suggestions” tab within the interface.
You may recall my discussion awhile back about using HitTail to find the most unique long tail search hits for my blog, which subsequently led to my first contest as well.
Announcement from HitTail
Not that I needed another reason to promote HitTail but earlier today, Mike Levin posted that they will be kicking off an effort to help promote their users.
Mike Levin stated,

We want to cover the more inspiring stories, and while we’re at it, help you with your site, and the HitTail formula in general.

Head on over to the HitTail blog where you will find additional details, including a video from Mike and a note on how you can submit a few words as to why you would be a good candidate.
I’ve already begged submitted my thoughts to HitTail on why I would be a good candidate and will be sure to let you all know if I hear anything back from them.

I haven’t tried Hit Tail yet. I’ve been using 103 Bees.com which is a very similar type of application. I’ll check it out. I like the idea that they at least help promote you!

@Patrick :: You’re welcome, I think you will like what you see with HitTail. It is very easy to implement but feel free to drop me a note if you have any questions.
@Bobby :: I’m not familiar with 103Bees so I’ll have to check them out as well. I do believe they are both quite similar although I am sure that each of them has their own unique traits. It should be interesting to see how this new effort from HitTail to promote their users pans out.

is it useful for blogs in Spanish?

I suppose it would be because it is tracking how people are finding their way to your site and that should really be the same regardless of the language.
I imagine the suggestions would still work as well but I am not sure. I’d certainly give it a try. Maybe someone from the HitTail staff would have more insight.

I use hittail about one a month. I review what it has gathered and plan accordingly. I really like it.
