Speedlinking – 17 Dec 2007

by derek on December 17, 2007 · 10 comments

For some reason I decided to waste three hours of my life watching another Chicago Bears game when I should have been reading through the backlog of posts in my Google Reader.
The game is over, as is the Chicago Bears season, and now I want to bring you a few interesting links in this edition of Speedlinking. The posts this week are from some of the bloggers that have been a part of the community since the very early days and I appreciate everything that they have done.
Check out their posts and share your thoughts with them!
1. Leo Chiang continues to remind me why I love reading his blog with his post about Party in the Park. It doesn’t get much better than a post that includes pictures of hot women, food, and the mention of a drunk dial.
2. Dave Pitlyuk recently kicked off a new site called Carbon Fiber Gear. With affiliate marketing being an area that I am trying to learn more about, I was very interested in his process behind launching Carbon Fiber Gear.
3. While there have been numerous posts about the fact that AGLOCO is dead, Stephen Fung provides some cause for concern when he asks who is protecting your privacy now that the ship has sunk and someone new may take over control of what is left.
4. Danielle, my blogging buddy, shares an interesting post on why link buying and selling will never die. The rules of the game are ever-changing and the recent Google PR slap served notice to some people that they either need to change their game or learn how to really play the game.
5. Michael Kwan wrote a great post that discussed the best time to write a blog post. As I mentioned in the comments, I typically write the bulk of my posts late at night (11:36pm right now) as that is the time that I usually have to myself. Unfortunately that usually means only a few hours of sleep each night.
Hopefully you have a few minutes to visit each of these blogs and check out the posts highlighted above – you won’t be disappointed!

I haven’t seen these before (except for Stephen Fung), so I’m having fun poking around.
And I know what you mean about those Bears. Yeesh!

@Michael :: You’re welcome!
@Dave :: I know I enjoyed reading about your process. I’m currently designing a layout for an affiliate site myself and hopefully will have things ready to see in a few weeks – unfortunately my timing and time to devote to it means I have missed the holiday season.
@Leo :: Not a chance.
@Hemet :: Glad that you are liking the posts and discovering a few new sites.
@Stephen :: Almost all of it is done, I am still trying to track down DDR for the Wii and hopefully will find that in the next day or two.
@HRS :: Hope you enjoy!

I liked all the posts. The one I liked most is the one of Michael Kwan about ‘best time to write a blog post’.

I really like the post about the best blogging times. I always just wrote a few posts at a time, but maybe it would be better to space things out a bit.
