For those that are new to the site, I have a feature called Speedlinking where I share a little link love with five blogs that caught my attention the previous week or otherwise deserve recognition.
The first Speedlinking post of the month typically gives recognition to the five people that contributed the most comments during the previous month. The last Speedlinking post of the month has been used to thank the five blogs that have referred the most amount of traffic to this site.
With a handful of new faces around the site, I will be trying to pass around the recognition to all of you as well but this edition of Speedlinking will highlight a few familiar faces and includes a handful of really great posts. If you’re not already reading these blogs regularly, I highly recommend each of them.
1. Michael Kwan recently discussed the fine line between ambition and greed. The separation between ambition and greed, at least in my opinion, lies not with what you want but with how you act while striving for your goals.
2. Dave Pitlyuk has kicked off a new series by featuring a Blog of the Month. For the Chowites in the crowd, you might remember that Dave was the one and only Blog of the Month on John’s blog. Hopefully Dave features many more bloggers than just one but if he ended the series here, I would have to say he did a great job. 😉
3. After posting a few photos of an ominous storm brewing, Damien Riley shared the thrill of grabbing some greasy strip mall pizza – which may have resulted in the brewing of a different kind of storm.
4. One blog post that I always look forward to is the UFC fight recap from Leo Chiang after a UFC PPV event. If fighting isn’t your thing, you can always check out the UFC after party to read about great food and gorgeous women.
5. Just when I thought Santa was extra nice to me, Stephen Fung enjoyed a “little” Nikon DSLR surprise under his Christmas tree. As a big fan of macro photography, I am looking forward to seeing more pictures from the Nikon 60mm f/2.8 Micro Nikkor lens while I experiment with my Nikon D40x.
As I mentioned earlier, Speedlinking is my way to give a little back to all of you – whether that be with some link love to your site or helping you discover new blogs to enjoy.

Have bookmarked them all.
Thanks for the links, sound intereting, will check them out in a bit.
Rewarding your active users as well as the resources which have sent traffic your way is definitely an approach I appreciate and which will pay off in the long run.

I have read Michael who is truly inspiring. Shall visit the others too by and by. Thanks.
Incidentally, it is a nice thing that you are doing there, speed linking. Keep it up.
Thanks for the love. Greatly appreciated.
Its good to give back, thats great! Plus it helps bring the posts back up in the serps.
I agree, it’s definitely good to give back and spreading some link love every now and then is a win-win situation for all parties involved.

Hey Derek. Thanks for the ping. I’m at CES right now. Wish you were here 😉
You and me both – I would have loved to have been there and would have gone for it if I could have found a way to get into the show. 🙁
You got an excellent idea of having Speedlinking in your blog. It’s nice to see that you give great appreciation for people who have contributed to your blog.
This month’s UFC happens the day before my birthday 🙂
@All :: Thanks for the kind words about the Speedlinking and I am happy to hear that you all enjoy it as much as I do.
@Leo :: Somehow I had missed the pics of your last 29th birthday celebration but damn it looks like you had a good time. Hope this one is even better!
