Speedlinking – 5 Steps To Blog Success

Last week we took a trip back to the basics of blogging and working on the Interweb – hopefully you all found something of value.
Today’s edition of Speedlinking will provide you with five steps that you can follow to help your blog reach a new level of success – or at least have fun trying!
1. The first step, provided by Alex Shalman, is to learn a few killer writing strategies that you can use to become a more prolific writer. And don’t wait to implement these strategies, start right now and stick with them for at least 30 days.
2. Once you have digested your writing strategies, Damien Riley has prepared a few thoughts for you regarding online publishing. This is a great strategy for getting your name out across the Interweb and bringing new readers into your own site, assuming of course that you are publishing your usual great content.
3. With your guest posts being published across the Interweb, Darren Rowse reminds us that another building block to success is to promote your blog through networking. As you continue to publish your content on other sites and network with other bloggers, it won’t be long and you will find people contacting you in an effort to build their network.
4. As you work on networking, be sure to consider offline sources of networking as well. Stephen Fung is regular participant in the Dot Com Pho gatherings up in Vancouver, although they recently held the Dot Com Burger Day to honor a landmark business that will soon be closing. When I make it to Vancouver for a visit, I think I will have to challenge Stephen to an eating contest!
5. When you are done perfecting your writing strategies and need a break from guest blogging and networking, be sure to keep your health in mind. As Ed Lau reminds us, not all workouts are created equal so be sure to find something that works well for you. If you don’t take an occasional break from blogging and sitting at the computer, you will soon find yourself suffering the effects of burnout and the quality of your work will suffer.
While these might not be the surest route to blog success, following these suggestions will ensure that you enjoy yourself along the way – which is ultimately what all of this should be about.
Now get out there and begin the journey to your own blog success!

I know what you mean about the burnout. I spent 4 hours doing research and finding information about a post I wanted to make, and then a couple more actually writing the darn thing. And now I can’t even bear to log into worpress…

You are right. Balance makes everything perfect. Dont also forget to work out on gym. Long hours of sitting infront of the computer can cause back ache and poor posture.

The most important to become successfull blogger is write original content, not just copy/paste from internet.
