Earlier this month, we were celebrating one year of blogging and as part of that celebration I announced a new contest.
The fine people over at BlueFur.com hosting offered to sponsor a prize and donated one year of free hosting on their Mini Unix package.
This is the package that Derek Semmler dot com is hosted on and I couldn’t be happier with the level of service that I have received as a customer of BlueFur.
And the winner is…
Using Random.org to select a random number, we have a winner of the free year of hosting and it is none other than Brewster!
Brewster, check your email for the announcement of winning the contest and please get back to me as soon as possible and I will get you in touch with the people at BlueFur.com to get started with your new hosting plan.
Congratulations to Brewster on the victory and thank you to everyone for participating in the contest. In addition, I would like to send a special thank you to BlueFur.com for stepping up and sponsoring the blog contest!
If you are in the market for a hosting plan that is economical while still offering an outstanding level of service and performance – how many other affordable hosting plans can withstand a front page digg – be sure to check out BlueFur.com and use the coupon code DerekSemmlerDotCom for 10% off your order.

Congrats Brewster, that rocks! 🙂
Sure does! Looking forward to trying some new hosting.
Lucky Brewster…When you say affordable and immune to front page diggs, exactly how much is that we’re talking about?
What a unique idea… Did you approach your host about the donation, or did they come to you? I am sure there is a lot of room for company sponsored contests across many blogs on the net.
I approached them and asked if they would be interested in sponsoring a contest on my site and they obliged. As you note, companies that want to sponsor a contest can really get their name out on the Interweb and it doesn’t even have to be an overly expensive prize.
